the base model feels cheap and is loud
by Fred on Wednesday, March 04, 2026
we have the base LX model that we purchased used that we're not exactly thrilled with. While it drives well and is fairly economical, the road noise is way louder than it should be, almost as if they skimped out on the door gaskets and other insulating materials. This is our third Honda but the first "base" model, and it really doesn't compare to our previous EX model Hondas. I think the takeaway would be to go with the Sport or EX model if you want to feel comfortable for the thousands of miles you'll be driving it. - 4.0
My 6th Honda
by Honda Customer on Tuesday, January 18, 2022
I went from a 400+ hp Mustang to the HR-V EX AWD. It takes twice as long to get to 60 mph, but I get twice the MPGs on regular gas and no longer purchase premium. My average gasoline bill runs around $200 a month less while my vehicle is more reliable. I also expect this HR-V to better hold its long-term resale value. - 5.0
Honda Hrv 2023 sport
by Tima Ford on Friday, February 09, 2024
I can say that I bought this car September of 2023, it’s now Feb. I’m at 6k miles. I agree with it picking up speed slow but they made this model based on the Honda civic when were those cars ever picking up speed fast unless it was the type R or one’s that came with turbo? It picks up speed slow but it’s not a bad slow, people are over dramatic saying they can’t merge on the freeway due to this, simply don’t know how to drive or push the gas more like you should when you merge. A lot of the times when I’m driving it will pick up slow for 3 seconds (literally) and then next thing you know I have to slow down because you don’t notice the speed has picked up tremendously. The seats are 7/10 they aren’t that comfortable but of course they need to be broken into. I drive it Mon-Fri to and from work so they are more comfortable than they were the first time I bought it. The style is a 10/10. I love the orange stitching and leather. Dashboard is a bit noisy I noticed but it could be because I have a box in my glove department. Truck is huge to me and that’s me coming from a Honda civic. Overall this car rides smooth but not as smooth as you think it should. It’s a bit bumpy, I like the noise canceling where you can barley hear anything outside. You get what you pay for if you want a car that drives like butter you’re gonna have to spend way more than 25k. But if you’re thinking about getting this car, get it! I got it based on reliability that Honda has been known for and plan on getting a Toyota to add to the collection soon. Very fashionable car and definitely makes a statement, who cares about otherwise!
